The all new 2744 Airborne CF Recorder is the ideal complementary solid state recorder to the widely installed 2604 & 2640 Mini DV based Airborne VCRs used by Police and Rescue helicopters.  The 2744 can replace an existing Mini DV recorder to provide a tape-less, fully digital, high quality recording, with the added flexibility of playback built-in. 

 

Using the latest high speed, high capacity CF cards, the 2744 will playback the video recorded onto the removable memory card itself, unlike other video recorders on the market rather which use a separate recording on an internal hard drive. Twin audio tracks enable stereo recording of radio and intercom commentaries. The front panel is hinged to allow access for CF card exchange and ejection. An internal light assists the operator during media changes at night. The front panel is ‘O’ ring sealed against the recorder body to prevent water and dust ingress.

 

The unit records the video and audio onto the memory card as an MPEG2 bitstream, providing both the highest video quality and reliability available. Unlike “wrapped” formats which will lose all of the data if the file becomes corrupt, which can sometimes be caused by a power failure for example.

 

The tactile keyboard has legends for daytime use and is fully backlit for night time operation. An optional NVIS filter can be installed for NVG compatibility. Both 28v dc or 5v ac backlight options are available.
